CPCA Tour stop number 8 was in Frog Lake, AB which consisted of 4 great days of racing.  We had some rain one evening during the races and then throughout the night but other than that it was good weather.  For three of our drivers it was exciting for them to be back home racing in front of their friends and family.  Louis Stanley, Preston Faithful and Keith Faithful all had decent shows.

The aggregate wrapped up after 3 nights of racing with Rookie Driver Dale Mitsuing taking home the show championship ~ it’s safe to say at a very young age he was taking notes from his Dad 7 time Canadian Champion Ray Mitsuing.

The Dash for Cash was between Jamie Laboucane coming off barrel 1, Dale Mitsuing coming off barre 2, and Dallas Dyck coming off barrel number 3.  Jamie ended up taking top spot with Dallas coming in second and Dale taking home third respectively.

The driver standings are tighter then they have been for many years so going in to the last two weeks of racing with 7 days of points left it really is quite unclear who will be in the final 4 come Sunday of the CPCA Finals and who will stay in the top 10.  As of right now Kris Molle is in the number one spot with 821 points, Jamie Laboucane is a close second with 818 points, Chance Bensmiller is holding down the number 3 spot with 791.5 points and rounding out the top 4 is Todd Baptiste with 775 points.  A couple drivers to watch for that are just outside that top four is Rookie Driver Dale Mitsuing who only sits 1.5 points back and BJ Carey who is in sixth with 756 points.

Starting Friday, August 10th CPCA will have 3 days of racing in Turtleford, SK and then the liners will load up and head to Lloydminster for the Finals which is set to start on Wednesday, August 15th.  For all of our fans please remember to check out the Souvenir Booth before the end of the season.

On Tuesday, August 14th there will be an event at the Lloydminster Exhibition called the Denim & Diamonds Gala.  If you want a chance to mingle with the CPCA Drivers and Outriders, have an amazing meal and be able to bid on some great silent and live auction items please go on to the Lloydminster Exhibition Website or there Facebook Page or Women of the Wagons Facebook Page for all the details or contact Lloyd Ex at 306-825-5571.  This is put on in conjunction with the Women of the Wagons and all proceeds go to Jim Pattison’s Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Stollery in Edmonton and all money raised will be matched by CP Rail.

Well I’m signing off for now but stay tuned for the next one….
