CPCA Outrider Dustin Gorst returned to the saddle in 2010 after suffering a season ending injury early in 2009. The former CPCA and Calgary Stampede Champion Outrider would be in tough having to dethrone 2009 Champion Rory Gervais who has been one of the top CPCA Outriders since coming on the scene in 2008.
Gorst and Gervais battled at the top of the CPCA Outriding standings all year with Gorst holding a 284 point lead heading into the CPCA Finals in Lloydminster. Gervais made a great effort capturing 83.5 more points than Gorst at the Lloydminster show but came up just short to repeat as champion. Gorst finished with 4466 points while Gervais finished with 4265.
Both Gorst and Gervais experienced major success outside of the CPCA OUTRIDING RACE. Gorst rode behind CPCA Champion Gary Gorst while Gervais rode behind Calgary Stampede Aggregate Champion Neal Walgenbach.
Casey Knight and Scott White were 2 of the 5 outriders making their rookie outriding debuts in 2010 and will be ones to watch in the future.
