“Oh Canada”

It was a great weekend of racing at Onion Lake for our 5th stop on the CPCA Tour.   Hard to believe we are at the ½ way point of the season. The track conditions were good and even though it was a tad cool and windy at times the rain held off.  The show belonged to Cando, SK driver Todd Baptiste and his Shadwin Trucking Outfit.

Todd took day money on day 1 and 2 and was second place on day 3 to sweep the field for the Aggregate title along with Outriders Basil Mosquito and Tyson Whitehead.  Brad McMann and Bioclean Disaster Services also had an impressive weekend ending up second in the aggregate with Danny Ringuette and Sure Shot Wireline edging out Lane Tournier for the 3rd and final spot for the dash.

So the stage was set for the Dash for Cash on Canada Day.  After the barrels were drawn it looked like this.

Danny Ringuette with Sure Shot Wireline on barrel 1; Todd Baptiste with Shadwin Trucking off 2 and Brad McMann with Bioclean Disaster Services came off 3.  Todd fired off of 1 and got out ahead and took the rail and was in control of the race until the very end when Brad McMann took a run at him and just missed catching him at the wire.  Todd won the Dash for Cash by 1/100th of a second over Brad McMann and Danny Ringuette came in 3rd in a very well driven race.

The points got juggled around a bit and a few guys made a big jump in the standings.  For all of the results and up to date standing please go to our website at www.cpcaracing.com

Once the dust settled some CPCA Drivers were packing up and heading home for a couple weeks for a little rest and regroup while others are off to compete at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth….The Rangeland Derby at The Calgary Stampede.  We will resume our CPCA Tour on July 19th in Little Pine, SK.

Stay tuned for some story lines and up to date action over the next 2 weeks from Calgary.
