For immediate release

“Due to unforeseeable weather and track condition, the CPCA Board of Directors, along with the Race Committee of Poundmaker Cree Nation, have decided to cancel the races in Poundmaker this weekend” Director Todd Baptiste says. “The new track wasn’t ready due to wet conditions this spring. Keeping safety in mind, we decided to cancel.”

Danny Ringuette, CPCA Driver and Track Committee member, did a few inspections on the new Valley View Meadow race track:” Keeping the safety of our animals, drivers and outriders in mind, the track wasn’t quite ready to race on. Poundmaker is going to be an outstanding venue moving forward, just not quite ready for this year. We are looking forward to racing there in the years to come, it will be ready for next year for sure. We would like to thank the Race Committee for all their work so far”.

The CPCA Pro Tour will return in action in Dewberry, AB on June 16-17-18 2017 with a full program. Stay tuned on our website and social media channels for all udpates.
